State Policy Initiatives
While legislative and policy initiatives in Lansing may seem a million miles away while enjoying the waters of Northern Michigan, the Watershed Council recognizes that actions in Lansing can have a dramatic effect on Northern Michigan's water resources. To that end, the Watershed Council staff have developed strong working relationships with many state legislators, and are actively involved in promoting sound science and policy at the state level to better protect our precious water bodies.
