The Bear River Paddling Poker Run is an on the water poker-style game that supports Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council. You provide the paddle craft of your choice. For your donation of $25.00, you will receive a Poker Paddle Card. Additional Poker Paddle Cards may be purchased for $25.00 each. You will draw a playing card at the starting line, at each of the five stops along the river, and at the finish line. Your Poker Paddle Card will be punched at each location indicating the playing card drawn.
Upon finishing the route you determine the best 5 card combination that you can make from your hand. A chart of poker hands will be available at the end of the race to assist you.
During the prize ceremony, poker rules will determine the best winning hand. It might be a royal flush, flush, straight, 4 of a kind, a full house, or something else - depends on your luck and the other contestants hands.
You should be out of the river and have your hand submitted by no later than 2:00pm. The Prize Ceremony will take place at 2:30pm. If you are late, your hand might have already been passed over - so be on time!
Should you miss a checkpoint along the way - your Poker Paddle Card will still be valid with a minimum of 5 punched spots. Cards with less than 5 punches will be disqualified.
The top three awards are cash prizes based on the amount of Poker Paddle Cards sold. Additional awards may be in the from of donations received from local businesses and individuals.
